Turtle Creek is closed to fishing until after mid to late Feb. No boat/motor restrictions anymore, but idle speed only. Couldn't tell you about the crappie.

One more thing, the last tme I was there I had to pay my launch fee with a credit card. They no longer accept cash.

Crappie sucks. Rumors been flying past couple years they were considering restocking, but nada yet. No cover for crappie either since weeds got stuck in turbines back in 2011 as they kill the weeds every now and then.

I haven’t fished it in past 4-5 yrs since the loss of grass. Couple of friends of mine hit it last June and fished it and caught a few with a couple in the 3-4 lb size. They were not that impressed. Maybe someone else can give a more update report as there are times I question their reports. Just be safe if you fish it as it’s shallow and if you get caught in the wind, it will be hard to trailer your boat in the wind and the waves can get big real fast. It has a real abundance of big cats in it also.

The silly thing about it is its $3.00 per person unless your 65, then its $1.00. So for myself and my BIL its $2.00 bucks to launch, but you have to pay with a card.

As far as bass fishing goes nothing like the old days. Last time I was there I boated 4 fish.

Lots of them. I don't fish it much, but I've done OK. Last year when we were there we caught several bass (couple of dinks, the rest decent sized) and couple of crappies, a big bluegill and a channel cat about 3 pounds.
