That's awesome and congrats to this young man!! He'll probably not find anything else that nice in his hunting career unless he has a friend in Texas, Iowa, Kansas, etc. that needs a deer killed.

Beautiful buck and smile! Sounds like he has a really sweet girl friend too...lol!

One of the biggest bucks I have ever seen in LA (certainly not close to the one this young man killed though!) was feeding under a pin oak tree in the back yard of a nice home in the edge of the town I worked in. Here is the kicker, I worked for an oil company and was switching the lease that had a pumping oil well in this back yard I am talking about. It was OPENING DAY of the gun season and I was having to work. We weren't allowed to carry firearms, but even if I had one I would have been shooting directly at the back of the house which was less than 50 yards away. The deer was within 20 yards of the well. I pulled up, got out of the truck, serviced the well trying to look at the beautiful buck as much as I could. And when I drove off...he was still munching on acorns. He looked like a 10 point with long tines and a big body. Now, there was woods behind the house but where he was at, the oak trees were in the yard and would have probably taken 3 or 4 bounds to get to the woods. That's been well over 25 years ago and that vision of him is still fresh in my mind.

Saw that a few days ago. Will be a real challenge for him to top that one!
