Happy you got a good deal on the boat and hope you enjoy it for many years.

Lol. You act like such a baby when you treat people like crap and they throw it back in your face.
I dont know whats wrong with my boat but i asked for advice, not your bullsh*t attitude.
You are over 20% slip with that setup, 72 is about 10mph slow. If the tach is correct and you've moved the motor... prop is junk.
If thats the case, then how does a prop go bad in a week? Previous owner who i bought the boat from ran 82 with same prop last week in Tenessee with me in the boat. Im not doubting a bad prop. It jus seems odd it would be bad based on performances it had when i bought the boat
Did you take it home right after the lake test?

Yes. Drove it straight to idaho.
Maybe you can't drive
Pat tried to help. He is blunt and to the point but very helpful. You got your panties in a wad because you thought he is a big meanie. If you don't want help, don't ask for it.
I have asked pat advice in the past and i wasnt impressed. I could careless the advice that could come from him. Hes not blunt, hes a all out assh*le. If none of this is true, why do i have several messages in my inbox stating to take pats advice with a grain of salt? Im not even mad. But if someone wants to come at me like a assh*le when i ask for help, expect it back. Respect is not given, its earned. Plain and simple.
All these guys are telling you the same info. Prop is not biting. Whether you have the plate too high and losing bite, over trimmed and losing bite, or prop hub is trying to crap out - 6000k on 1.75 gears with a solid 29p prop is 83-86 range at 10-12% slip. If altitude was causing a power loss, you would see it in lost rpm.
James, im in Idaho as well. What lake did you test on? I have had these same issues your going through. It’s the elevation change I have had 3 different bullets all brought form close to sea level areas and they ran real good at 600-800 ft as soon as I bring them here I lost up to 8-10 mph due to set up. You’re going to have to lower the prop to pad. That has been my experience so far.
Well James...I'm speechless. If your feelings get hurt that easy, I'd highly recommend you never come to Texas to fish a tournament.
When people start arguing over boat setups, which you did, nobody has time to sit you down and have a condensing little talk to try to get through that melon what's being said. You're obviously young. Obviously pretty clueless on how stuff works, and obviously smarter than anyone else here. So, I'd suggest you stick to your obviously small circle of people you know so the big bad world doesn't send you off to your safe space.

Chill man. The reality is that something is off with your setup, motor, or LU. Elevation definitely plays a part, but a 10 mph delta seems excessive.
Some additional diagnostic questions:
Do you use a hot foot?
What are the compression numbers?
Have you had your LU checked out?
When was the impeller last changed?
What is your water pressure at WOT?

Just because it is stamped means absolutely nothing unless you have owned it from day one. None of the props on my boats were what was stamped on them I had everyone of them modified. Send it to Mark and have it worked over then you will know for sure what you have.
If it was turning 6,000rpms in Alabama theirs no way it would turn 6,000rpms at your elevation it should have lost rpms and speed somethings off.

You can still be turning 6000 but have the prop too high and it will turn 6000 but not bite. You should have lost 500 rpms with the change in altitude and 5-10 mph.
