    Arkansas River Fishing in December

Heading down to Pine Bluff, AR (from Wisconsin) to pick up a new to me boat and was planning on taking it out this Friday on the Arkansas River to test drive....wondering what I should pack for tackle and any other tips/advise for fishing the Pine Bluff Section of River this time of year.

    Thanks!

Jigs, it's suppose to be cold(not Wisconsin cold) but still cold, crankbait(medium) will probably work as well as a jerkbait.

I haven't been down there for a while, but it's probably stained to dirty on the river and stain to lightly stained in the harbor. If you plan on staying a night or two be careful.

I haven't lost anything at Pine Bluff harbor, it's more the motels that are sketchy.

Recommend you stay in the White Hall area. There are a couple new motels at the 270 exit.

Be sure to bring a squarebill with you as well as a jig. I like the Bandit 100, in Firetiger or River Bream. I normally fish the river around Dumas and that Firetiger has caught some really nice LMB for me although I don't fish it in Dec. Let us know how you did.

River was 43 degrees, very muddy and very high....the freshwater drum were loving a finesse jig though! Felt good to set the hook at least
