09 puma ftd with 18 mercury 250 2 stroke setup

I need some help on set up on this boat I just had a new 250 pro x 2 stroke put on I’ve tried a 26 and 25 fury 3 blade both top at 75.5 ish, boat originally ran in the 80s with the same setup same props, I’m running the 26 fury around 5950 with it buried the 25 is close to same rpm I have 30+ pounds of water pressure and I’m carrying a medium load, the 26 is a older prop the cup isn’t defined as much as the 25 any help would be appreciated thanks

This was just my experience. I’ve owned puma FTD’s 2008,2010,2012,2014-2018. All of them with 250 Pro XS. My 2018 was by far the slowest out of all of them. Most had worked props by Ronnie Gilbert so that wasn’t the issue. All with hydraulic jacks so setup wasn’t the problem. My 18 motor was noticeably weaker and I’ve had several people who have run multiple engines tell me the same thing. Just a “for what it’s worth”

Jack plate settings? Manual or hydraulic? Id say your too low but that not enough info you have provided. Where at in NC
