Finally started mine again.
Bike sat since last year so I bought a new battery just to get it started again. Fired right up so of course I had to take a quick ride. there was only one problem, riding down the street when it's 26 degrees kind of sucks...

I crank my Harley and Goldwing once a month and let them run for about 5 minutes. I keep a battery charger/maintainer on both of them during the winter months.

What most people don't know, is that on most motorcycles, you need to run the engine at 3000 to 4000 rpms before it will start charging the battery. Leaving a motorcycle sit for years will not harm a motorcycle. ( As long as you have stable in the gas tank)

mine has a Battery Tender on it all the time.
I start mine and let it run about once a week. really be glad when it gets warmer so I can get out on the road.
