294 Prop Testing w/ Trophy 26 and Trophy Plus 25......question

Had a buddy let me borrow these props, so i was excited to test them out. I normally run a 26 Fury and it performs great....most of the time.

The 26 performed very well with good holeshot and handling. It responded well and i think with a bit more set-up time it would be a great prop for the 294. I did not have a chance to open either prop WOT due to debris in the river. Not sure of top end performance.

The 25 needed more set-up time, to be fair. Holeshot was poor and likely needed more plugs installed. It porpoised a bit at lower speeds and did not perform well. I am sure it needed engine height adjustment. Not a completely fair test.

Both props seemed to have a vibration i could feel through the hotfoot and steering wheel. Nothing major, but noticeable. The 26 had some use and noticeable wear, but the 25 looked brand new. Is this vibration normal for a 4 blade? It was certainly too much for my liking.

Do yourself a favor and run a 25 or 26 fury 4. I have the exact same setup as you and I’ve been down the road you’re on. Fury 4 with all holes open has an instant holeshot and is the fastest on top end next to a TXP. The fury 4 out performed the fury 3 on my boat especially loaded down. Full tanks, 4 batteries and 300lb of man it’s good for a legitimate 72.

I run low 70's pretty easy. I have hit 75.

Fury 26 / 74.6 mph / 5400 rpm / water temp 58.3 F / 1' chop / still had room on the Hot Foot / backed off due to severe arse pucker.

Yup... and with about 12 hrs on a fresh rebuild. JP is set a 2 1/2". The boat takes off like a scalded cat.

I have 200 HP decals on it to make it legal.... sort of...

Have you checked for prop shaft runout? ... or the hubs?

it is only the Trophy props that have the vibration. The Fury is ok.

Only a guessing . Difference model boat , but some times my Bravo 1 will vibrate at idle and low speeds . Thought the lower unit was going to come out .Find out it was only exhuast gases going across the blades .

That may make sense. The Trophy is smaller diameter than Fury and I was using a blowout ring. Maybe that was the cause. It was abnormal for sure and they both did it.
