    Do people really have their trailers dangling off the hook like that? I've always threaded it up higher on the hook to make the bait more compact.

    Just run a toothpick thru the trailer, in front of the hook.

    Yep the toothpick works great --Randal Tharpe has a video showing how he does it . When using a chunk that is how you use it on a jig ---hanging like the pic shows
