You can't forget Buddy Rich.....and of course Mike Portnoy from the other thread. I always thought Phil Collins and Tommy Lee were pretty good as well. And we can't mention John w/o special mention of Jason.

Most definitely. I could compile a list a mile long lol. I saw Jason when he came to town with Sammy hagar. Good view from the side of the stage.

Ah Stewart Copeland, Grohl (not sure how I missed him on my list) 2 more that definitely were an influence. Ringo, Moon and those guys are amazing just before my time so I never really got to see what they were about. Great list some legends for sure.

Some that pop to mind are Peart of course but guys like Lombardo are often overlooked. My favorite drummer of all time is Levon Helm from The Band with Joey Kramer from Aerosmith second and maybe Roger Taylor third.

Levon was such an all around musician it's hard to put him on a "drummer" list, but holy heck, what a talent!

There is a documentary on Netflix about Ginger Baker. He's a most unpleasant man. Was a hell of a drummer, but mental illness (I'm guessing) and just a general tendency to be an arsehole have taken their toll on him for sure.
