I want to rig some soft plastic crappie baits Texas style to make them weedless. What is a great hook for this setup? Thanks!

2 hooks Ill mention are both VMC hooks. You didnt mention what baits you will be rigging so, 7310 is an EWG super light wire hook.. 8313 is a light wire worm hook, standard J bend with an offset eye. Depending of what you throw you will want a #1 or a 1/0, both are available in these hooks. If I remember correctly, both are black nickle. Problem is finding someone that might carry them. I'll suggest Capt. Hook for your first attempt. Dont know if they carry them, but could probably order them for you. Problem is they are 1000 min, but check with them, they might break it down to smaller packs for you

How about some weedless hooks? I live on a timber infested lake and they work like a charm. If I do get hung up, I just attach a lead weight to the line and let it slide down and knock it loose. Here's what I use. I swear by them.

I used the same jighead and body all most all summer long before I finally lost it. It caught hundreds of crappie. Lake Fork is nothing but submerged and fallen timber.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to order some as soon as I figure out what size hooks are recommended for winter and summer

Depending on the length of the plastic,, #1 year round is a safe guide.
