    They don't get "paid"? Some of the most expensive "free" marketing there is...exposure is worldwide and worth many millions. The other stuff is just political mumbo jumbo and I will stay away from it...

    I was thinking a year or two ago, they were reporting that the performer actually has to pay to be in the half time show. Believe they were having trouble finding a half time show then too and it came out that no one wanted to pay to perform.
