    Need suggestions

Our Bassclub does an away Tournament every year and we are looking for somewhere in Virginia to try, We will fish Tidal and just about anything. What would be a good site that has good catch rates along with decent overall size. We typically do this trip in the Summer, and prefer to camp over a motel. I see alot on here about Blackwater and Nottaway. Thanks for any help and if I can return the favor on waters near me just ask. Steve M

Smith Mountain Lake, Kerr, Lake Gaston......Can't go wrong with any of these three.

    For rivers, what Meadows recommends

    For lakes, what Grizzly recommends

Can't go wrong with any of those recommendations.

SML is not a place you want to be fishing a tournament on a Saturday in the summer time.

Kerr and SML are my two favorite places in the state, but fishing wise it's hard to beat the tidal rivers in the summer.

I personally like Gaston. But to be fair I have never fished Kerr. There is a nice campground (Americamps) on Gaston That is very nice. I had a camper there for 3 years. They have a swimming pool a little store, and a little putt-putt course. Also they have a DJ on most weekends in the summer.

As far as camping your not going to beat Kerr. You have the Army Corps campgrounds at North Bend with ramps, also Rudds Creek has both along with Longwood and Buffalo with both and with different locations on the lake. Not to mention the campgrounds in NC. Oh ya I for got Occoneechee with camping and ramp.
