I'm impressed the stock heads and cams on these engines flow enough to make power at 7500.

Pretty sure you have to re-prop to take advantage of the higher revs.

I was at Hydro-Tec for testing on a new project at that time last year and they put that SHO through way more on the dyno several times than anyone running that power head at 7500 and it did not go BOOM.

Its really a great motor and has proven to be reliable even at very high power levels and rpms.....

Agreed, that's impressive! If you have the limiter raised that high I assume the variable cam timing goes full retard(no pun intended) does that mean you trade some low end torque for the high rpm power? As I assume like with other engines there's only so many degrees of cam phasing?

What about the oil level at 7500 rpm do you have to add oil to run at 7500?

can the oil pump keep up?

How long would recommend running at 7500rpms ? Couple miles? 25milerun? Also I wonder how much power it makes at 7500rpm

We have yet had one go "BOOM". We have been doing these for over ten years. Voiding the warranty is against the law but it could effect how the warranty is paid

Wayne did you ever deside to play with the VF115 SHO yet ? Lots of them out there is there room for performance gains with the VF115 without increasing RPM ? . Second question how much HP is gained on the SHO that you are doing 200-250-300 SHO reflash, if you do not raise the rev limiter to increase RPM ?
I am not looking to do the kind of modifications we did on my old 2 stroke tlrb115 a very long time ago , Nathan did the block porting , had your reeds, you did a couple sets of heads , had the block bored ,wiesco pistons , 220 special carbs, intake done ,weight removed from flywheel , changed the front half ,that was a beast. Just looking for a little wake up on this VF115 . Joe R
