Can't do any worse than the last guy. Inland lakes plus the Ohio River suck... If it isn't a walleye swimming in Lake Erie they don't give a damn... Dan

This Just look at some of the so called managed waterways and inland lakes,,,,,no rhyme or reason to what they do.

Rush Run-mid 1990's or so shocked it and found a 10 pound plus and many 5 plus pound bass since it was being managed for bass. I caught many nice bass there in the 90's. Still catch a few now at night but few and far between. Then they put in grass carp to eat the weeds. Then big bass went away. Then tried managing it for panfish and crappie. Never caught a big crappie or blue gill. Then started stocking trout in it, Caught a few of them on spinners. Now all you catch are 12 inch bass and a few big channel catfish and tons of yellow bellies..

Gov. Rhodes was the last guy who took state parks and outdoorsmen seriously. Maybe getting a non-farmer in charge of things will at least remove the pro-fertilizer mindset.

I wish her luck. But, I'm not holding my breath that things will get any better.

Until the agriculture and industrial influence on our local waterways is addresed , our waters will continue to deplore. Take the inland lakes that have had an algae bloom for years . Grand Lake, Buckeye Lake are prime examples. . Now Kiser Lake is also. There is a business in the Kiser Lake Region that was putting in a million feet of drain tile a year in agricultural areas.Lots of people have known for a decade that this direct runoff is what triggers these blooms in most of our inland lakes. Unfortunately we live in a state with less water, and more business and agriculture. The fact that we have this prosperity in our state , combined with the amount of fisherman for the amount of water, and one would think we would have well managed waterways. Which bring us all to politics. Which is where I leave....
