    Re power is done

My new 22trx I bought in August got repowered from the 2 stroke to the new 4 stroke, going to break in Saturday morning. Ready to let her roll, I've been impressed in other manufacturers with the new Merc, hopefully mine is as good.

    2018 22trx
2018 Merc 250 pro xs 2s fully loaded, full fuel and live wells 5600rpm 25temp plus 66mph. Between my 17&18 models o could never turn more than 5600rmp not Mayer prop size etc and both rigs ran 66 loaded

Broke in the new 250 4s yesterday. Real world numbers running full of fuel, both Wells full and had a passenger. 5900rpm 71mph. Holeshot is excellent fully loaded, in fact I was amazed. The midrange is unreal, I think Merc did their homeward on this thing and may have hit a homerun. FYI I'm running a 23 tempest plus on this motor, think it's the right prop for this setup.

I'm not sure, I have a friend that had his new 4s in June and he hasn't needed to change.

I don’t understand how you could be 5 mph faster turning only 300 more rpms with 2” smaller pitched prop. Do both motors have the same gear case?

It feels like there is more lift, nose is out of the water a good bit more, doesn't feel like the same boat. So much more torque in the 4stroke, totally different engine.

Other guys are doing the same thing on other brands. They must have found some more efficiency in the lowers somewhere

Nice numbers. I may not have to fight to get a Yamaha on my next Triton.

Had one a couple years ago on a 21xs, it was good but no comparison to this Merc.
