Thieves got me where it hurts.

When my grandpa gave me his old truck about 10 years ago he had left a medicine jar with about 10 dollars in quarters in it. I've always kept the tube of quarters with me especially now that he's gone. He was the last person to touch them.
Last night my daughter had left her school book in my truck and she ran out to get it. Being that she's 9 she doesn't even think to lock it and it doesn't even cross my mind. Woke up this morning and my overheard compartment was open and sunglasses were in a different place. Someone had gotten in my truck over night. The only thing they took was the bottle of quarters. I've felt sick all day about it. We live in a super nice safe neighborhood but these days that just doesn't matter. Part of me hopes they at least bought something nice and yet there other half of me hopes they used it on drugs and overdosed.

I hate thieves. Hope they dropped one and as it rolled they got out in traffic and earned a Darwin Award.

Maybe your daughter grabbed it and is going to surprise you with a Christmas gift. Just saying.

I do understand and feel for your loss....but to wish such bad on someone, even a thief, could bring bad karma........

We are way too easy on convicted thieves. A rope and a tree limb could take care of the problem.

No matter where you are thieves are everywhere. Went down south years ago to another state to deer hunt with a club my brother-in-law that was a $2500 membership yearly and someone there lifted my cold weather rain suit.

It does suck. A friend had his passenger side window broken out and a thousand dollars and a gun were taken out of his truck. The money was hidden pretty good so he claims it had to be someone who knows him.

I really hate thieves. Wish they would drop dead and become part of the walking dead cult.

That sucks. We’ve had neighbors see people on their videos walking through the neighborhood and checking every car door to see if it’s unlocked. Also having lots of issues with people stealing packages/boxes off the front porch. One guy posted a video of a thief stealing a box...turns out the guy filled an amazon box with his dog’s crap and taped it up and put it on the porch! The same thief actually got caught today stealing another box but they caught her from that video.

Its a shame that you have to treat your own personal property like Fort Knox in order to keep anything.

I came home late one morning and someone was in my son's car in the driveway. He got out and walked toward the house like he lived there. When I stopped my car in the street, he took off and ran right past me. I thought of pulling out my sidearm but, at the same time let it go. I just wasn't willing to shoot a kid or anyone over what would have been a small loss. But ... there was that moment of truth .... Glad I let it go - nothing was missing.

Several years before ... I saw a man in my wife's car and turned his azz over to the police. You never know.
