Both are outstanding reels for the price. I think it just goes to personal preference and feel in your hand. For the record, I have 12 curados of different models and 8 different tatulas. No issues with any.

I have lots of Shimanos..but they are mostly "E" series with one "I" series and one "K" series.....My Tatula SV TW collection started at one and is up to 7 after fishing the "K" next to the tatula....as for the DC 150 Shimano I cannot speak but the Tatula SV TW can be had for around $150.00 if you search ebay for sale pricing in the winter. I love both and would like the try the 150 DC

My next couple of reels will be a K and a SV TWS. I want to do some real world comparisons to my current equipment, and to each other. May the best reel win.
i bought 10 of the curado k series this spring, they have great reels the only real knock i have on them is almost need to use your finger nail to set the fine tune dial on the bottom and a 1/4 inch is a big move in the casting,i like mine i have the 8.5 and 7.4 reels

I have several Curados, but haven’t owned a Diawa since the original Magforce days. I was just interested in the DC performance over the lesser expensive Tatula. Is the DC worth the extra $80

I used to have all Shimano reels, but I’ve bought some Tatula SV TW’s and really like those reels. I have no way to say one is better than the other, but I really like my Tatula’s.

Does daiwa have a dc reel at 250? That’s the can vs can’t. Seems black and white to me , unless I’m missing something. He might not want it, but nice to have

Daiwa doesnt have a DC reel at any price point, its Shimano technology. Some prefer Mag brakes, some prefer Centrifugal, some prefer Shimanos Hybrid DC system. They all do the same thing and 9 times out of 10 its the caster and the rod/line/bait setup that will dictate one casting further than another when dealing with reels in comparable price ranges.

They are as good as any Shimano that I’ve owned. Now I’ll admit that I have not tried a $500 Shimano, but their Chronarchs of old weren’t all that impressive.

I actually appreciate the "one of 2" differences between the two. Which further proves my point of they are 2 different animals. Now, let's put that DC up against its real rival, the Zillion SV TW. It will outperform the DC with that many different categories.
