"I'm fishing a tournament for money."

I just watched this video on You tube. I thought it was going to be another one where fishermen are harrassed by others, but I think this guy was out of line ... The dispute starts around 8:40...

Saw that one a while back, he wasn't close to them at all, they just didn't want anyone in their area like they own it. I would've left, but I think the camp folks were out of line IMO.

he was wearing his jersey, those people should have vacated the area imeadietly and assisted with keeping others from encroaching

Give the swimmer folks some room for goodness sake. Freaking doofuses. Exactly why tourney anglers get a bad rap.

I'm sure the whole lake was full of the dinks they were catching, I'm always proud of my under 7 lb limits.

I don't see how a situation like that would even make for fun. I would have left or went wide of them if i was their first but most certainly would not have put myself in a position to engage with them.

I would have went wide of the swimmers and trolled on past the spot where the boat was turning around.

Too close. He should have went way past them and started fishing again. Let them have their water. Goofballs like that give us all a bad name

Who hasn't had a fishing spot ruined or encroached upon by someone else? Regardless of whether or not you are fishing for fun or money, the right thing to do would be to pull up the trolling motor, strap the rods down and go find another cove to fish. The bottom line is that the $5 that he came out ahead by taking 4th place is not worth the aggravation and it is not worth the black eye that this gives tournament anglers to all who witnessed this. Lastly, don't try to justify your actions because of the actions of others like he was doing when comparing what he did to that of the other boats and how close the other boats were coming to the kids. Man up.

Sad situation, looks like an "entitled" brat. After all he was "fishing for money". He should look at how he acted and put himself in their shoes.

So the big money guys can get away with more? Fishing is fishing whether its a weekend fun trip or the classic, I wouldn't give up my spot for either one, I will share though.
