When i repowered my 2004 tr21x last month with the new 250 4 stroke I went with a fury 24 three blade. 79.1 so far with only about 5 hours on it. 6k on the rpms. hole shot is absolutely unbelievable.

24 fury ran 70mph at 5830 rpm per the smartcraft. Boat is almost empty of tackle right now. This was only me in the boat with 3/4 tank fuel. Maybe I need to adjust the hotfoot stop? Did you guys adjust your jackplate after repower?

Definitely sounds like you're not getting 100%. I had to adjust my hot foot quite a bit

That is my feeling. My 08' wont be quite as fast as your 05' but I'm hoping to see low to mid 70's with a tournament load. Is there a way to measure the throttle adjustment from at the engine or was it trial and error?

Not to change the topic, but does anyone know if the new 4 strokes add any length to the boat? I am tight on storage with my 2005 21X as it is right now. Will repower when the time comes and I am hoping I can still fit in my garage.

The hotfoot had room to adjust, still not seeing an increase in speed though. I believe I need to try a different prop. I have a lead on a 24 Tempest that could help. I don't believe the motor size is that much deeper than the previous proxs, if so its no more that 6" Id guess.

    24 fury :
    5930 rpm, 71.5 mph. 33lbs h2o

    24 tempest +:
    5870 rpm, 70.4 mph. 34lbs h2o

    23 tempest +:
    5910 rpm, 68.3 mph, 33lbs h2o

Haven't changed the jackplate height from the 2 stroke settings. I have no rooster tail while WOT. My previous motor had the gen 1 torquemaster (no wing). Has anyone found that the new winged torquemaster liked to run higher?

That was true on the 2 stroke. Some guys went up an inch or more. Worth trying

Had the motor remounted to the highest mounting holes which gains me 1.5" of additional running height. So far the 24 3 blade fury has been slower at the increase heights, I have lowered the plate to the original height to keep performance as it was before remounting. The boat runs flat at WOT and tends to blow out during the holeshot, feathering the throttle helps. I hope to borrow the 24 tempest again and try it higher. I have read here that the tempest will lift the bow better. Thoughts?
