    Jackplate Setting Caracal

Been running my Caracal a few months now at the original JP location. My question is what tells you to raise or to lower a JP? Is there a general rule of thumb for doing so?

What speed are you currently running and at what rpm? How is the boat behaving at top speed?

Don’t think I have reached top speed sustained yet. Usually 69-70 starts getting squirley. I have had it faster but usually have to bump trim back down to gain control of the chine walk. 5400-5500 rpms.

My Caracal has an Atlas Hydraulic Jackplate and it actually performs better with the jackplate lower. I usually run with it around number 5. With that setup I get about 68mph at 5400 rpms with a Fury 4 24 pitch prop. If I raise the jackplate the speed drops.

    I have 2018 Caracal with Atlas Hydraulic. Fury 4 24 .
I get 72 with loaded boat running number 3.
Have not played with it much, probably could more out of it, but speed not a factor for me.
