    93 sv dead

I bought this unit in the spring and it ran flawless until my last outing in early October. It will not turn on. I cut the power source at the splice and wired it directly to a fully charged batter, with a 3 amp fuse of course. Nothing. I did notice some minor greenish corrosion on the outlet side, just on the power source? Not sure of the issue, any easy checks that can be done? Anyone in metro Detroit with the same unit so I could plug into your base for a quick test? I hate sending stuff back, trying to avoid it if possible.
    Thanks to any and all.

As often, I can download the photo but is shows as a question mark. I struggle with photos on this site often and then sometimes it just works perfectly. Help with that would also be great. The picture was shot with my iPhone btw.

How do you know the fuse is good? You cant always tell by looking at it.

Probably bad gimbal mount. I've had 2 go bad. One caused power failure as you describe the other caused networking failure.

You can test the fuse with the continuity tester on a multimeter

Garmin’s quality is so bad? Or the units were tortured somehow? Just curious

    Thanks for the responses.
I swapped out the fuse with the one for my bow mount 73.
If the gimbles go bad, should I buy several for future failures? I like to keep things for a long time regardless of fast moving technology as I am not a professional fisherman.
I will contact Garmin and get the ball rolling.
