    Who has tried real wasabi?

Not the fake stuff served here in the US in Chinese and sushi joints. I mean the real high dollar 100% stuff? Its on my bucket list to try someday. I like the fake stuff....

It’s a complete different kind of heat. Doesn’t last like the hot pepper kind of stuff. Of course I’m only talking about the fake stuff made from horseradish. I love the fake stuff.

It is very similar to fresh ground horse radish. Grow some horse radish, grind it, and try it fresh on a slice of roast. It is a lot different than the stuff that you purchase a the grocery.

Love the fresh horseradish, miss my parents grinding it every year. You did not want to be around when they did but it is great fresh.

Of all the things I think about, Wasabi (until now, at least) has never entered by mind. BUT...now that I know how rare it is, I'll add it.

Yes, Mother in Law is Japanese. I like the Ginger she brings back, Not as much a fan of Wasabi. She told me " Very Special, Soooooo good". There some stuff she eats, not as much a fan of, some is real good.

I can't eat horseradish or very much mustard. So, let's just say "Depends". As in, "Take your Depends with you when you go out to eat some real Wasabi!"
