    899/helix network

I have a 899 HD SI and a Helix 9 mega SI mounted at my console. The two units are networked via an Ethernet hub. I have a shoot-thru transducer and a mega y-cable so I don’t lose 2D when running. The 899 does not have a transducer connected to it because I primarily use it for mapping. My question is should I be able to pull 2D from the networked helix unit even though it is mega/chirp?TIA

Yes, if you turn CHIRP off. You cannot share CHIRP to a non-CHIRP unit.

Wayne, thank you for responding so quickly.I have a Helix G2N unit and I don’t have the “chirp mode”tab that’s in the picture. I am sorry but I should have mentioned that I also have a G2N Helix DI chirp unit at the bow that is networked also. Would it need to have chirp turned off as well?.

That makes no difference the procedure is the same. You posted you have a MEGA unit and that has to be a G2N.
You have to go into the Setup menu and turn CHIRP off.

I will look again. The 899 does not show any of the sonar data tabs in the main menu and none of the views can be found.

If you have SONAR OFF on the 899, you won't have any sonar menus. The unit will be a Chart Plotter in that configuration.
You have to turn SONAR ON to have a sonar unit.

Turn chirp off on the Helix to share, not the 899.
