Sleeping with head and chest elavated

So, had gallbladder surgery last Monday. The first few nights I slept with a bunch of pillows to prop me up. Best sleep I have gotten in my entire life. I didn't move at all and was up the next few mornings at 515 on the dot.

Thursday and Friday I slept without being propped up, tossed and turned the entire night and woke up feeling like crap, like I didn't even sleep. Saturday and Sunday went back to sleeping propped up and woke up those next mornings feeling refreshed and didnt move a single bit while sleeping. Looks like I'll be ordering the sleep number frame that raises the head of the bed up

I guess where my post is going, if your not feeling like you get enough sleep each night, try to sleep propped up a little.

I'm pretty sure I'd sleep a hell of a lot better propped up. When I take a nap in my recliner I sleep good. Two dogs in bed don't help with the sleep or lack there of.

Same here and it's because I snore, sleeping upright doesn't totally eliminate it but it does greatly reduce it. This may also be the reason you feel more rested after sleeping upright.

Yeah, I was going to ask if you’re a snorer? I know if I raise my bed just a little it keeps me on my back and I snore significantly less when I’m raised just a few inches. If I lay flat I get really horrible sleep but then the wife can’t sleep on her side. I’m 5’10” 170 so not overweight but my snoring sucks! I couldn’t live with me!

Suspect propped up helps keep your airway open. If you havent been checked, may want to go for a sleep study.

just bought a wedge pillow at Bed Bath and Beyond. 24"x24"x7''. I have acid reflux and it helps and better than raising the mattress.

Do you sleep on your back or side or stomach? I'm sick and my wife says to sleep with pillows propping me up. But it hurts my neck if I'm not on my back.

A buddy call one day and ask what I was doing, told him I was putting a rearend in a recliner. He said well. He comes to garage all time and I am working on something. It took him 2 weeks for it to dawn on him I was setting in my recliner. When it registered he call and talked real bad to me. Haha, we both got a good laugh from it.

When I have a hard time sleeping, I head to electric Recliner in Family room. I turn on Fireplace lights(ambiance-lol) pull up my little microfleece blankey and in 5 minutes > I am in level 10 sleep Mode.

After I had back surgery I can't sleep without using a wedge with pillows. Still use CPAP. ACTUALLY APAP.

We just got a new mattress and adjustable platform. Wife is a back sleeper and loves it. I’m a side sleeper and like it as well.
