Echomap Software Bug: SD card won’t be recognized

Try copying the internal map to a card of 2GB and Immediately you will notice the MicroSDHC port doesn’t work anymore, until a factory reset. Rebooting doesn’t help.

    Software version: v7.3

Not sure why Garmin doesn’t offer an SD card ejection soft button?

I doubt Garmin wants you to have the ability to copy the internal maps.

    Nav info/Manage data/Data transfer/copy Built-in Map.

You may need to have a good card inserted first. A pop up menu will also show up once a card is inserted.

HOWEVER, I still haven’t found the “ejection” button.

Don't need an eject button. It's a push push. Push in and it latches. Push in again and it releases.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

Could it be that the sd card size is to small? For the record I do not know what size the map is....also I want to say that it can be downloaded via AC app.....

I think you need about 5 GB to complete the internal map copy. Just did mine last week to use on home port.

I’m talking about “soft ejection”, the one you have to use before you eject a physical card (like from your PC). What if the unit is writing data to the card?

Yes, but we need a larger card, but the software is too “careless” to allow it to proceed and eventually freeze the whole SD card slot.

I’m expecting users to have more issues on this, due to no soft ejection function! Let’s see!

Im not an expert but unlike a PC, this only writes to the card if you "tell" it to and at that point you will know when it's done.....
