Update : they ruled out bad fuel, waiting on mechanic to call me but it’s definitely something with throttle sensors and set up, waiting to hear more from mercury

Talked to mechanic it’s something computer, either a sensor or in computer programming, he sent everything to mercury with on water diagnostics and waiting for them to make decisions, hopefully they can figure it out real easily, problem one of the first issues they have seen with the new motors

All the big wigs and mercury are out for the holidays, told me come get the boat and bring it back after New Years so they could run a diagnostic on it and hopefully get this issue resolved

Yes sir, if the place that mercury told me to take it to can’t help then I’ll keep you on the short list

I dropped boat back off at the mercury mechanic today, hopefully mercury can get a handle on this issue pretty quick and it’s something minor.

Mechanic told me today he is not sure, we ruled out any fuel or fuel tank issues, waiting to hear what mercury says. Motor has 46hrs on it

Suggest it wise they do a recording of the engine at WOT with the problem occurring. Hold it there and record it- save the recording, and then it can be reviewed by Mercury or others as needed.

All water and computer test showed no irregularities, everything is normal in the parameters, Mercury is supposed to send people to go figure it out

Are you running an analog tach or Smartcraft?

That would be any number of Smartcraft Instruments (SC1000 is a series). Try disconnecting all connections (each connection between the instrument and the engine) overnight, reconnect and see if the problem persists.

If the problem continues, you may have a problem in the CAN harness, OR the gauge may be scrambled (replace).

So mercury says that on the new fourstroke there should be 52# pressure going through fuel pump and I’m only getting 40# at wot, they seem to think it was a primer issue from set up. Mechanic is checking fuel separator and see if it is a clog if not it’s most likely fuel pump

I asked on 12/15 if a separate fuel tank had been tried to isolate the problem to the engine or the boat. Seems like your issue could’ve been resolved almost a month ago. The K.I.S.S. method works great with diagnostics, but most ‘technicians’ are too afraid to use it.
