    Carb leaking fuel

    hey everyone. i started to winterize my boat yesterday and when i pumped the primer bulb pretty firm #4 carb started leaking gas out of this little hole. the other carbs did not leak just number 4. any ideas? Screenshot_20181206-190632_Gallery.jpg

    Stuck float on that carb. Remove the carb drain plug and let the carb drain out. Tap on the carb bowl with the handle end of a screw driver and re-install the carb drain plug. Pump it is again.

    Pretty sure this qualifies as one of those "if I had a dollar for every time" issues. Fortunately it's an easy fix.

    as always thank you fred. is there a reason the float could be stuck? like trash in it or something? this spring i want to rebuild all 6 i just hope the bowls aint warped really bad

    Probably trash in it. I'd use OEM carb kits though.

    You said you pumped the bulb pretty firm. Sometimes pumping the bulb real firm will be more than the normal fuel pressure and will cause a carb to leak, when it won't leak while running. You still might be able to fog it and do the carbs next spring.

    hey jughead, i did pump it pretty firm. im for sure gonna do the carbs in the spring with oem kits. i appreciate all the help guys. have a merry christmas

    i had one one time that would never seal the needle to the seat - i think it was warped. if the bowl is warped, it will twist when you tighten it and the float won't rotate all the way up to seat the needle.
