    Winter transition crappie fishing!

    That guy lives on that lake. Lake of Egypt which is a power plant lake and 2 1/2 hours south of me. He puts out some pretty good videos. Right now, we are catching all the crappie you want in brush in 10-18 foot of water. We only use jigs and tubes. We mark a brush pile and then tight line 8-10 foot deep. These fish are fat and full of shad and thump the jig hard. If it's a sunny bright day, they will suspend over top of the piles and don't like a boat sitting over them so when the bite slows, we back off and cast the same jig under a bobber and usually catch a few more keepers from the pile. If it's cloudy/overcast, they will be buried in the piles and we have to drop the jig down in the brush and actually bump the brush and they crack it. Fun time
