    03 cougar jack plate

2003 Cougar 2015 250 Pro XS Torkmaster II gear case
25 Fury 3 prepped by Ronnie Gilbert
6 in slidemaster...…..at present 24in from pad to nose of lower unit total setback
    No poles
Best overall ht P to P seems to be 3 1/4 not enough speed increase when ran higher to be worthwhile
Performs very well over all at 76 mph at 5900 heavy load with full livewells. 1.5 mph faster with empty livewells
Have not had chance yet to run it light
Minor chine walk above 75 easy to control
5-6 % prop slip depending on load
very low rooster tail maybe a foot. Likes trim just a little above neutral. Higher trim levels only gets about 3/10 mph more and increase chine walk as well as torq steer
I have no interest in a hydraulic plate, firm believer in keep it simple
As well as it does now I am not at all convinced that more setback would do anything for me, need more input

Any one know if another 2-4 in of setback would even be worth the effort and expense
    What should I expect
    any negatives?
