I've been using Lefty Kreh's knot. Fast, simple, easy to tie even on the boat.

There isn't an easier knot to tie than the uni and it does most everything, leader to braid, dropshots, hooks, make a loop knot, etc

+1: I am not good at tieing knots, but I do have confidence in my ability to tie the uni knot. I use it for just about everything.

Thanks for the videos guys. I usually use the uni to uni unless I’m lazy and I use a knot that I don’t know the name of but is so simply it can’t be effective.

I like the crazy alberto except for the doubling of the leader material. The idea of kinking mono or flouro concerns me but it’s a know I’m learning.

My question is, and I know this is all opinion, what is the “right” sized leader? I use 30lb Suffix 832 on all my normal casting equipment. To me it’s the best compromise as far as strength, casting, diameter; but if I were to use a leader it would have to be at least 14-17lb leader which has such a huge difference in diameter...so does it make sense to use a leader at all?
