Read a while back about putting spacers on your jackplates, I’ve got a 202 with a 225 optimax on it. What benefits might I look to expect, or, I guess I should ask why put them on the unit in the first place ? Waiting on ya Pat !

What are you running now? I don't like more than 8" but there's other opinions.
8" keeps the correct handling abilities of the hull, go to 10" and you'll lose some of that.
203 with a merc responds better with a bit more positive trim angle than it does with more setback.

Thanks Pat, I am running an 8" jack plate at this time.
Wedges between the plate and engine for a bit more positive trim angle.

I'm sorry I'm going freaking blind. You have a 202, not a 203.
8" plate? You got all you want, and you do NOT need to add trim angle to a 202.
Get your prop right and go fishing. Worked 26 tempest should be the exact ticket. Keep your load down and you'll pass a whole lot of 250's.

Used trim extender tabs for awhile and the ram wore uneven on the seal and cap. Had to be replaced due to leaking seal.

Trim extenders are fine for testing, if it helps get the wedges.
