It's Looking like the construction on my new jet rig should be finished up this week. Here are a couple of progress pics thus far...these are pics after paint...color is battleship gray.

Great job!
Is that console original?
Nice!
That is a really nice looking hull and layout. I think all tin rigs should have a tin console like that.
Looks fantastic. What are you going to power it with?
That should annoy the neighbours.
Yeah that should take you shallow places! Looks great!

Awesome boat! You should never be at a loss for storage space.
Man that is a great looking boat. What is the metal thickness on that bad boy? It would make a great Wisconsin River boat for chasing smallies up here. Keep them pics coming.
It's .100". My use will be just as you describe...mainly bass/crappie fishing on shallow rivers/lakes around this area. Around here, "most", lighter built jets are .080" and the heavier are .100". These boat are well built and have lifetime warranty on the hulls and transoms. Bottom bracing is on 12" centers. Bottom bracing in the rear is turned length wise to prevent "wash boarding" when the bottom starts to get beat up. Three knee braces on the transom. Here are a few more pics.

That is pretty sweet
Only change i would've made is to eliminate the rod tubes. I like open rod boxes better.
Generally I would be right with you on this but most of my experiences with open rod lockers included compartment openings that were nearly full length...ie access to, at least, most of the rod. The center compartment doors on this boat are approximately 36" long...i.e. more than half the rod tucked up inside the nose of the boat. As my luck would have it, even in rod socks, my eyelets would find a way to catch. In this case I opted for (8) over sized tubes of which each tube will hold (2) rods, most likely in rod socks, for a total of 16...that is if 16 will even fit in the box. Also...if you look in at the port side compartments...those holes cut in the forward and middle bulkheads are there for "overflow" rod storage if needed.
