Is that the Titus mini mod? I had a similar mod by Titus on my previous Stroker and it ran very good. I should have kept it but it went with the motor/boat.

NOTGSXR...no you do not have a piece of junk. Mine looked just like that on the same motor you have; 250XS/1.75 and it ran good. I wasn't an all out speed owner and till not but it was just fine for what I used it for..mostly small lakes and fishing. As TB21 noted for all out speed and handling it was a bit more tricky to drive with the skeg profile

The modded lowers I have run have been 102/104 depending on conditions. Not sure what a stock Sporty will do as I run the modified version.

How was the boat loaded Lee?

The issues I have seen were on heavily loaded boats, higher than normal engine height, and more setback.

The coned TM did not work at all! Looks like Woody runnin down the lake making magic turns.

I have a sport master with the mods and have the pix you want. I haven’t been successful posting so I can text them and someone else can post. Let me know.

The boat was fully rigged ready to fish, 3/batteries, trolling motor etc... Nothing else but safety gear and myself.

There's no reason a Torquemaster coned gear case wouldn't work unless there wasn't enough tab in the skeg to keep the unit running straight.

The higher than normal engine height will get you every time no matter which unit.

Lee, I don't want to come across ass a smart axx but I believe the sporty has a longer skeg which should help the rig running straight at a little higher engine height. I don't run a Alli but I do like and respect them. I have never run a TM on my brand. I've had a stock sporty with 1.75s to 102 and a modified sporty to 104 with 1.62s. Have a friend with a Stroker/250xb/jc coned TM/1.75s that would blow out in the high 80s with the troller. Put a modified 1.75 sporty of mine on it and ran high 90s and eventually strung it out for 101 with the troller with no problem.

I have also had a problem with a modified sporty performing very poorly in the mid to hi 90's. Put a stock sporty on and ran trip digits. The thought process was since I had the bottom fixed/blue printed it loosened the rig up enough that the modified skeg wouldn't hold enough and keep the rig on pad in the high 90s and it would try to fall of pad which made for a exciting ride, time after time until we figured it out. I thought it was my driving but when I put a more experienced driver in it he got more out of it but said the same thing.
