Tro4 is a good prop when I had my xpress. Odd numbers seem best. Faster than any i tried.very stiff but would run better on top than a trophy on my yamahah.

What prop are you running? let us know when you run the TRO4. I have X19 with the F150lb motor, not impressed with performance thus far, Michigan Wheel Rapture 23p 55.7mph gps, lots of slip. I have the VMAX prop now but it runs at 5300 rpms and barely breaks 50mph. I think I want to try a 4blade.

Boat came with a Power Tech PK3 23P. I comes out of the hole good, but not a lot of top end. Have been really busy, so haven't gotten with the dealer about the swap, but I will let you know how it turns out when it happens

Started out at 3.5” PTP. It actually ran good there. I raised it in 1/4” increments until 3” PTP. May play around with it more when weather is a bit better.

Just like everyone else I needed to change out my prop on my X19 that Xpress put on there. I have a 2018 X19 with an Atlas 10" hydraulic jack plate and 175 SHO. I actually got close to the 65 mph mark with the prop they shipped the boat with but only got to 5600-5800 rpm and it was undrivable at that speed. Chine walk was not controllable. I talked to Jared at Powertech and he shipped me their TR04 4 blade prop. I called him when I was out on the water and he got me dialed in. Running 62 mph at 6000 rpm and MUCH better control overall. They made an even swap on the props. Had to pay for the 4 blade upfront, but was refunded full price when I shipped the 3 blade back. The guys at Powertech were great to deal with!!!
22p
I called Jared and he sent me a 23p TRO4. tried it at 4" ptp with myself, full livewell, 3/4 tank gas, and half of bass pro and got 56.2. Raised it to 3.5" ptp, same setup but add my 117lb wife and I only got 49.4. What gives? I shouldn't lose that much by moving a 1/2 inch should I? By the way y'all are talking, I should have ran better at 3.5" ptp. Thoughts?

I have a 2016 x19 150lb 4stroke with a new 23p TRO4 I just got from Jared, 6” JP set at 3.75” ptp. As soon as I get a chance to run it I will post my numbers. The wait is killing me I’ve just been too busy

whats your rpm at when running at 56.2? Or 49.4? With a 150 4” or 3.5 ptp are you getting to 5400 or more? If not then I would say a 23p is too much and need to back down to a 22p. I run a 23p tro4 at 4” ptp on my 175 now and I get right at 5500 rpm maxed out on trim and two people full tank... it barely hits 59mph. By myself I get to 63.5 with a max of 5600 rpm still. I moved it up to 3.25 ptp and got rpms to 6000 no problem but it killed all the performance. Point being the sweet spot for this setup is probably closer to 3.75 ptp, which should help with Rpm and maybe give an extra 1-2mph loaded. With you having 25 less horsepower I wouldn’t think you would see more than 57 and a little less loaded, I think your gonna need to back down to a 22p though to turn in that 5800 range where these engines perform best.
Ive tried about 4 different 3blade Yamaha props and 4 blades. The tro4 definitely runs best
The 150 has a 2:1 gear, 175 has a 1.87:1 I believe so Jared recommend need the 23p. Just ran the boat over the weekend at 3.75" ptp. 5600 rpm, 55.8mph just me with full tank of gas and gear. Only hit 51 loaded with wife. It feels like it starts really slipping when trimming up past 5200 rpms. Only get another 1 mph for 400+rpms. I'm thinking this could mean motor is too high? My thought is either going lower on motor height or going to 22p. The 56.2 run was almost the same scenario as the 55.8 run but the motor was around 4" ptp.
Thoughts?

I think i should be getting 57 or so with me and tackle, 55 or so tourney load w/ 2 passengers. But something isn't right. My old VMS prop only ran 5100-5200 trimmed all the way up, they prop is too big for sure, only got 52mph with it. This tro4 feels good but at 3.5" ptp out does poorly with a lot of slip, 3.75" ptp it does good but stats slipping and "pegs out" around 55mph, at 4" it did 56.2 but I still feel like it isn't getting the best grip. All rpms on the tro4 are around 5400+ trimmed out with great water pressure and top speed reached no matter the setup.

I agree with you and I have had similar experiencing at 3.5 ptp and above, they seem to like to run lower. If your running 56.2 at 4" PTP at 5400 RPM with a 23p, your slip is around 5%. If you were to drop down a pitch to a 22p and were to turn it around 5800 rpm (which I'm thinking you should by going down a pitch) with the same setup (4"ptp), assuming the same slip, you should be getting to 57mph. Your overall handling my be improved and your using more of your full range of RPM / being more efficient overall. May improve your "loaded" performance as well. Only way to know is to try it.
I actually worked with Jared as well. I traded in my original PT prop that came with the boat for the 22p Tro4 for free (he use to recommend the 22p to everyone even with 175). then I had him ship me a 23p to compare as well (I paid for it)... but once I decided on the one that worked best I sent him back the other for a full refund (minus about $30 shipping). Call Jared, he will send you a 22p to try and let you decide which one to keep.
Here is a prop calculator I used to come up with my info above. In all the performance comparisons I've seen on the 19ft bass boats running this motor... 57-58 is the top end for sure.

thats only 8% slip on that 22p prop running 62. thats real good. Ive never had much luck with powertech myself but theyre a good company. I'm running 26-28p props with my G2 and the mercury props seem to be the winners so far for low slip numbers. Yall should try a fury 4 on your x series boats. wont have to do much more prop searching even though a 26 is as big as you can get. I'd be willing to bet the fury 4 will outperform in holeshot, corners and top speed- especially carrying a load.

The V6 blocks produce more than a measurable bump over the inline 4 175 SHO. 2 extra cylinders and more cubic inches equals more power but 60 plus is still very respectable for these mid size motors. Really love the looks of your new X19; (alli ss)
Very respectable for sure. Thanks for the compliment! Still getting used to not having 100mph at my fingertips like ive had since 2000. Heckuva machine though, built like a tank. Needs a 300 on it.
