So far (Less than 2 hours on it) I'm very happy . It's a totally different animal to get used to but , I think it's a beast. Ripped a 32 ProMax out of the hole twice as fast as my DBR 250xs could.

98.3 so far. Still in break in and didn't realize I was going that fast until I looked at max recall on the phone app I was using. A little above 6200 rpm with a 32 ProMax 1" above pad.

I was close to buying one, but after thinking about it I felt like it was just too much motor for an xb2003. Hopefully that V8 will make that the 21’ boats feel like a 20 footer!

I stopped by Tim’s to take a peak at the V-8 and I’m extremely pleased how well the looks compliment the lines of the Allison. The engine is narrower side to side than I expected and with how Allison places the engine up in between the rear pods, that takes away from some of it’s length. To me it looks like a 300x on steroids and imo, I think Mercury knocked it out of the park!

Knowing Tim for several years, he’s modest in his commentary so I imagine this engine will satisfy even the most thirsty of the horsepower junkies.

I ran with Tim at the lake the other day. The new motor was twice as quick out of the hole as my 21SST w/ 300xs 31hydro. Seams like it pulls really hard through the midrange when I drove it. And it was already faster on the top end before the engine swap. I think I like it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the numbers that the 300R's are going to put up on acceleration and mid-range. I already know they will be beasts out of the hole and on top end. Well, I know the 250R's are all of that. I can't imagine the 300 not being the same only bigger numbers.

I got out Wednesday to play a little. Ran a 31 Max5 prop , a 32 Bravo 1 with no vents and full flare and a 32 ProMax.
I know everyone has been curious about the Max5...Well it's for sure a great prop has tons of lift (what I wanted) holeshot was great and super fast to 93mph @ 6000rpm , it got flighty above that with no weight. I'm very happy with the Max5 with what little time I have on it but , I'd not pay $1700+ on another , mercury lost their mind on that! Ran the 32 Bravo 1 to 94 @ 6200rpm with a very quick holeshot. Both the Bravo and max5 did best at 1.5" above. My old trusty 32 ProMax ran 101.7mph right close to the limiter (my hummingbird showed102.? at one point I glanced but my phone app had a top speed of 101.7 so , I'll go with that. Funny thing is that my 32 ProMax would lose bite if I bumped the plate much over 1" above....I don't get that.

Wow! Glad to see that 300R making music. I'm pleased with my 250R. I'm running my 30 PROMAX 1.5 to 1.75 above. My setback is 11.5.

Excellent running and feedback. I was hoping to see you loving the R. But, it makes me want one even more now. LOL. I don’t understand either, why your 32 PM loses bite above 1”. Something you will figure out with more running I bet.

So had any other 2 seater made it to trips? Let alone blasting right through it to 101.7! Congrats Tim. Makes me want one badly as well.

Are you running out of pressure or is it losing bite? Promax is 14.5” and bravo max 5 are 15” diameter..

Plenty of pressure , just loses bite. he smaller diameter was my first thought to but , I'm hearing that others are running above 1.5" with a promax so , I don't know.
Not really concerned with it as I don't have a desire to run any faster than that. Going to start working on a loaded setup now.
