Anybody ever build a rod using Mudhole blanks? I see they are having a 35% off kits for black Friday

Not ice rods, but a buddy did a soft water 7ft. rainshadow for me and it's great!

A option for you may be to check at a tackle shop for broken soft water rods, and make one out of the tip section if you find a action to your liking.

Bass Khang blanks are incredible - absolutely can't touch them for the price. The one comment I have is that I think the perch carbon is a better all-purpose walleye rod than the walleye carbon. If fishing for trophies and/or with big baits then the walleye carbon is likely better, but for 99% of what I do (flutter spoons all the way up to small ripping raps) the perch carbon handles it.

I built a power noodle as a "snare" rod last year and it works pretty damn well. Have just ordered one of the dead stick blanks as I believe that's exactly what it's intended to do. For the few hours and extra materials it takes to put one together, it sure as heck beats paying $120 for a mass-produced "Custom" rod from another company. Or just get Ge to build you one...he does awesome work too.

Friend and I got several blanks from Baaskhang, very nice blanks to bad it took them 10 days to go 120 miles but worth the wait. I also got a couple kits from Mudhole when they were 35% off and they are very nice also. I will order from Basskhang again.

I have the perch and the power noodle both fantastic rods and if you have him make one with recoil guides it’s 30 bucks cheaper than a TUCR.

I've finished two of them and they are very nice, he's out of the perch blanks but that will be the next one I will make.
