    Very nice
Keep’em coming, I’d like to see some SI mega+ too... adding another unit to my SI mega G2N and debating if I want to go to G3’s or just take a deal on G2’s... life’s decisions

Yes it is. Only went to that lake to get some deep water screenshots where I did not think the thermocline would be an issue. Did not fish.

Really nice shots at that depth of water. Guess the new units and new transducer will stop all the talk about Mega units having limited range and HB having bad 2d images.

Those that complain about or criticize the MEGA frequency don't understand the simple principal that the higher the frequency, the less range and depth capability you get. That is the reason 83 kHz is used for deep water rather than 200 kHz or 50 kHz is used for even deeper water rather than 83 kHz.
Airmar has some CHIRP transducers with frequencies of 25-45 kHz for even deeper water.

Great detail! Tell the truth... you had the boat on the trailer rolling along on the side of the road with the transducer turned up to the hills and trees. Yes?

Just kidding. Looks like the sonar is set to 200kHz (140-240kHz). Can you repeat those pictures one day with the sonar set to 83kHz to see if they improve?

The units with their included transducer do not have 83 kHz or dual beam 83/200 kHz. The Dual Spectrum 2D is 140-240 CHIRP or 150-220 default. If CHIRP is turned off, it goes to 210 kHz for Full, 170 kHz for Wide and 210 for Narrow. None of the G3 or G3N units have 83 kHz with their standard transducer, ALL are Dual Spectrum.
You can view the specs on the Humminbird website for each model.

As far as those screen shots, I was not concerned with the 2D performance in any way and did not adjust for the hard bottom. Dual Spectrum was already a feature with the SOLIX and MEGA DI transducer I have. That is why the thread title is MEGA DI+.

There were no fish between the transducer and bottom in those images and I wasn't there to fish, just to check the performance of MEGA+. There were fish about 50 yards away, but that was not my target subject. Some boats in the area were trolling for stripers.
