    Question License Plate bracket???

What do yall have to keep from losing the plate??? Just notice this morning that my plate is missing, first plate since owning a boat that has gone missing. Could have been broken or stolen, not sure for how long. Anything that is "bullet" proof out there???

May just stick it in the rod box and pull it out if needed.....

I noticed I lost mine when I was at Okeechobee last year. I may have lost it on trip before that to Chickamauga. Anyway, I mentioned it to a guide buddy of mine and he said not to worry about it, that a lot of states don't have you tag a trailer. So I drove home without it and no problems. Called Tim at Phoenix, got another plate holder in 3 days! Another great testimony for Phoenix CS!

I bolted mine to the trailer frame.

I'll probably catch some shade from someone on this, but mine is in the slot in my drivers side truck door. Been that way for 15 years. Was pulled over once specifically for not having it on trailer and explained that I had lost them before and didn't want that to happen again. State trooper was cool with that and let me go straight away.

I have lost a ton of license plates over the years. The two sure-fire methods to keep them attached is to put either a thick piece of rubber between the plate and trailer bracket. I bought a 18-wheeler mud flap at a truck stop and cut it up but there are other things you can use. The other option is to use a small piano hinge to put between the plate and holder. The idea is allow the plate to flex when entering or exiting the water.

I bolt 3 license plates together and have never had a problem. Obviously, the current one facing out.

I made my own. Metal and on a hinge.

Mine fell off on a ramp because it was on one of the cheap plastic plate holders. Lost it when I launched and when I was loading the boat after the day of fishing I saw it and said, "some dumbass lost their license plate! Wait a sec that number looks familiar..." Got lucky there.

I just double zip tied it to the frame and it's been working great there up and out of the way.

Ya, I've got mine hinged so it swings both ways, into and out of the water.

I seen one attached via heavy duty zipties but the ziptie was not clinched down all the way. Leaving a small loop in the ziptie gives it the same effect as the hinge method. It would actually fold back and forward but the key is to get the loop the correct tension or it will flap in the wind going down the highway. All it needs is just a little movement.

You guys that have had problems, is the mounting bracket breaking or the license plate? I always had problems with the license plate cracking around the mounting holes.
