Garmin has panoptix and livescope.
Lowrance releasing the HDS Live units with LiveSight and Active Imaging.
HB extended the MegaSI range and bringing dual band transducer to close that previous deficiency.
So what’s up RM’s sleeve?

Doesn’t Raymarine have 3D imaging?
I would like to see live imaging
I heard that were not going to support any of the tours next year, which tells me they are giving up on the fresh water market.
So tell me more about the 3D. Are there reviews and images available? How does it translate to improved bass fishing? The only thing I’ve read about 3D was it was a bust for Lowrance. Folks there were using it for the better side imaging and not the 3D aspect.
Search google and YouTube.
I do on new bodies of water. Just as in the old days when you would go over a tree and you thought it was a brush pile and less you spent a lot of time go around it with 2D sonar and markers, now you can get a much better picture with one pass with side scan. The 3D does the same of the side and down, giving a even better look at what’s going on.
So back to the original question since I’m buying a new boat in early 2019 and doing my electronics research now, is there anything big coming from Raymarine in this market relative to the competition?
If 3D is it, that’s fine, just not a selling factor for me.
Don't know the answer other than I suppose they're due
Raymarine has a 3 year warranty, they don’t force you to upgrade a year or two when your unit breaks, they repair it, up to 10 years after the last manufacturer if date.
If they do come out with something new most likely you’ll be able to add it to your unit and not have to seek and by the newest units.
Cant comment on what might be coming, only with what they put out in the media.
Do you want to spend your money on a unit that you can keep and grow with with updates OS or do you want to be buying a newer unit ever other year to stay current?

Raymarine is different because it has AHRS gyro stabilization - short answer is that it takes the typical wave action that translates to a jagged or distorted bottom out and gives a true picture of bottom.
3D is another view and another tool. No view is perfect in every situation, but it is another view that is useful.
If views like this are helpful with your fishing - great. If that’s not what you are looking for then 3D probably won’t help out.
Feel free to ask ask any other questions.
