2017 Nitro Z20 w/250 Verado

So I sold my 08 Champion 200 Elite and was looking to get into something newer....Im used to a great holeshot, good top end and awesome rough water ride.....Im reallllly not wanting to spend almost double on lose that stuff. I found a 17' Z20 that I like and I feel is a good deal. I want honest thoughts and opinions....im a Lake Erie guy and often fish Lake St Clair. Im in big water. I need to know that if north wind kicks up and it goes from calm to 3-4's in minutes im in the right boat.

Any info is appreciated.

I can't imagine that boat would disappoint you in any of those situations. I know a few guys that had the 250 Vrod on their Z21's and they were quick out of the hole and had a top end of just over 70. The Z20 should be all of that and then some.

Is that the one at Pro's Choice that you are looking at?

Yessir the black one is what im looking at. I like it I really do I just get nervous of not fishing out of my Champ lol

I am in my 2nd Nitro and can say I will buy a 3rd when the time comes. I won't even consider another brand. I have spent a fair number of days on Erie in my Z-9 and it has always performed great for me.

Call out to Pro's Choice and talk to Blake Felix about Nitro's. He has a wealth of knowledge about them and can answer any question you might have....and don't wait to long....they sell new and used boats quickly.

I've got a 16 Z20 with a 250 Vrod, twin poles. It would handle those 3-4' ers with no problem. I've been in bigger and just ha to be smart. Don't try to go 60 and you'll be fine. The vrod is a great motor. Planes out instantly and had good speed. Mine will run 72-73 or so. My favorite prop has been a 24-Fury 4. Not the fastest prop, but good all around. Great hole shot and still runs 70-71 but holds the bow up better. My only complaint about the vrod would be the fuel mileage. It likes fuel. I've had 3 Nitros and have never had an issue with 1.

Thanks for the help so far.......ive spoken to a guy out there already and have talked numbers...they are closed til Monday. We shall see what Monday brings....if I could afford another 75-100 more a month I would be getting a Falcon 205 but its pushing it with a wife and three daughters

You need to be sure and take the Z20 with Verado for a test run with it loaded before you buy. Some porpoise bad and some don’t.

Nothing yet they were closed yesterday as well.....tried getting a deal worked out on 2 carbon 12's and taking off the units that on em as trade in but im not paying MSRP for the carbons and getting crap on trade for those units lol so it looks like im handling those myself.

I bought my 2015 Z8 from Pros Choice in late Oct. Gotta move fast because they don’t last long. Great people to deal with. I drove from SE Ohio to get it.
