I've listed my last two Bass Boats on BBC and both were effortless sales. In each instance the first buyer arrived, liked the test drive and purchased. The BBC is a great community. Good luck!

Yeah, the flipside is as frustrating as well as a buyer dealing with one of these types. Go to buy something used (boat or otherwise) that has legal paperwork that is supposed to follow it around. I'm willing to buy, but the owner doesn't have the paperwork, or "it's in a box somewhere from when I moved", or I know the guy I bought it from still has it, I can get it for you if you buy the (thing), you just have to sign it and take it to dmv/courthouse/wherever. (None of which is usually an accurate statement).

There's a lot to be said as a buyer when I ask you as a seller - "You have all the paperwork straight, in your name, no leins, etc..." and you say "Yes, we can go straight to the notary now if you want." Man - that actually will buy you some credit with me if I am wanting to negotiate the buying price.

I feel your pain. Even when I try to give stuff away for free it becomes a hassle. I have gone the donation route for alot of items as I'm sick of dealing with these lowlifes.

Same here! My biggest issue was reacting quick enough to respond back to potential buyers the rig was sold. My Z20 sold the first morning of the first day of listing it here.

Sold my last boat on BBC. Had less than 5 calls in the 1st few days before the 2nd caller drove from Alabama. We made the deal over the phone. I think I let him keep a $100 or $200 for gas. He had pics and told him everything about the boat. One test drive and he left with it. Others called, I just said it was sold. I emailed Al and he removed the ad. Best ad I ever placed.

I always list the negatives that might jump out at a potential buyer so they know upfront what I'm selling. Saves both parties time if it is known upfront.

Going through the same thing here. I have decided that I am going to de-list mine until spring and give it another go then.

One thing I learned is never haggle or do a test ride until the potential buyer has viewed the boat. I am also guilty of lowering my price when they ask what is my bottom dollar, I have learned to stick to my guns. I also agree list the problems so they are known.

I sold my Bass Cat Sabre a couple of years ago to the first person that looked at it. He didn’t even want a test ride, never started the motor. I tried to get him to go out in the boat, he said he just wanted to pay me and leave. Easiest sale I’ve ever done. I told him to take it out and if there were any issues to call me. Boat was an 08 and looked new, unbelievable condition. I had recent compression numbers for each cylinder, hours on Merc Monitor, detailed photos also which helped.

You’ll get the right person, I’ve had your types selling my last RV, a 45 foot toy hauler, and people showed up in a mini van. They didn’t even own a truck. I had to drive 30 minutes each way, hook it up and pull it out of the enclosed storage unit, put all the slides out, etc. Major pain to show it to people.

. I hate dickering and will pay the asking price most times IF it’s actually worth the asking price. Around here most people think their boat is God’s gift to humanity and price it that way. unfortunately people always say don’t use NADA pricing and go by local value. Those same people complain about the price of used and new trucks and boats being so high and they don’t understand what’s driving up the cost. Insurance companies go by the book value, not what you paid or that the seller thinks it’s worth.

Glad you managed to sell it, Omcforever. I was selling my boat for months and then just out of the blue the guy called and picked it up the same day. Strange how that goes sometimes.

Can you drive it down to North Carolina so I can test drive it in the lakes around here? The water in our lakes is different than the water in Ohio. After that I’ll need a week to think about it then you can drive it back down here if I want to buy it.
