    When we replaced the last system (SEER 16) and upgraded (SEER 20), I replaced all duct work.
    Added more intake vents, replaced all grills and installed a 5" thick filter at the air handler.
    I'd simply replace all the duct work. IMO, it's the only good answer, and it will seal things up too.
