    Ultrex Mounting kit

Do the Ultrex's not come with rubber washers to go in between the bracket and the boat? I removed a 52" off my boat that had them under it and cannot find them in the box with my brand new 45"? If they don't come with them, who do I contact to get some or can they be bought online?

It comes with everything you need to install. You do not need rubber washers.

My boat had the Motor Guide rubber isolators which takes a larger hole than a 1/4" bolt.
When I changed from Motor Guide to Minnkota Ultrex, I installed new isolators with the threaded part cut off to make up for the bolt diameter difference, and used the 1/4" bolts/washers/nuts.

The MinnKota Edge comes with the rubber spacers, the Ultrex/Fortrex does not. The mount does better to mount directly to the boat, as long as the boat doesn't have any curve to the mounting surface. If it does, you will need to space under the "low" side so the bracket sets flat.

Thanks guys. I wanted a little cushion to protect the gel coat so I got some 1/8" thick rubber washers and put them under. Worked great.

By mounting it on rubber washers, don't be surprised if the mount starts making noise as the motor is turned left or right. That would be the mount creaking while twisting during the force of the turn.

My old Maxxum was mounted with rubber washers originally. When I went to mount the Ultrex, the washers seemed a little flattened out so I got some more at Ace Hardware. Glad I used them because we totally forgot to install the velcro tie down strap. Because of the washers I was able to slip the strap under the mount. This worked out great because now, I can pull the slack into the boat and wrap it around the buckle and stick to some velcro that I stuck to the mount. This keeps the strap from flapping around when you're out on the water.
