If it fails it wouldn’t be as easy to replace
ive experienced poor performance from built in units
my us2 now on my ultrex is 12-15* off on temp if I remember I replaced it with a separate transducer and all is good now

be interesting on the overall size of this di motor head with the transducer would wonder if it limits the chance of installing a SI unit if wanted

There is no room for that transducer if there is a built in DI. I have had a couple US2 units with no problems. If you are running aground often I guess that could be an issue. It does look pretty well protected.Bob

For the Terrova and Ulterra guys maybe but it limits other install options to much for me. I know it saves a cable on the shaft but if that bothers you then OCD won't let you fish anyway....... lol

The built in transducer is also supposed to eliminate RFI, for some that alone is worth it
