    Pulling multiple cars with dollies

Pulled into the gas station today and saw something that made me go huhhhhh. Saw 2 sets of 3 cars all attached either using car dollies or tow bars. Crazy thing was is I only saw one pulling truck and it appeared they were working on it. Not sure if they were trying to pull all 6 with one truck or the other went off for parts etc. The sets were in opposite directions so I assume it was off somewhere.

But anyways is pulling 3 cars like this even legal. I know I wouldn't just seems like too much to go wrong. I guess where there is a will there is a way.

I saw something similar in TN along I-40 once....but it was a compact car towing a dolly with another compact car on it towing a dolly with another compact car on it towing a dolly with another compact car on it.

1 car towing 3 other cars just like, all 3 on dollies..................and I bet none of them were rated to tow more than 1000 lbs.

    That would be illegal here.
Is there a chance it could have been a used car dealer going to/from an auction?

I would say something along those lines. Or maybe someone buying at auction to chop or flip.

A CDL would be required for any double trailer setup here, and triples aren't allowed. Oregon allows triples, but I believe limited to a few major highways. None of the examples in the posts above seem safe, legal, or a good idea. I'd bet that some smart-ass boss ordered his employee to do it, and the poor schmuck will likely get busted. IDK if the Judge will take that as a viable excuse or not. Somebody should serve time in the Crowbar Hilton, IMO. I once pulled a VW Beetle 10 miles down I-5 with two strands of 1/8" parachute cord, and thought that was pretty nuts.

Everyday occurrence around here, driving 40mph in a caravan. Saw one the other day had shoe polish on the back window that said "in toe".

Same here. Usually headed to Mexico is what I'm told and kind of looks that way. Also, usually a small Toyota pulling 2 or 3 small toyotas or other small vehicles. Never really looks that safe
