    Bias ply trailer tires? 185/80D13

I DO NOT want to "upgrade" to a 15" rim and low profile tire. The roads around here are beyond terrible and don't want to chance a bent rim.

I ran this tire on my old flatbottom with good luck and it pulled like a dream on it. Tire was super stiff and always had a feeling it would do great on a heavier trailer. That said, I'm casually shopping for a new wheel/tire combo for my Tracker 175txw trailer. Tire diameter is 24.4" and looks to be about maxed out so going bigger isn't an option. The OEM Loadstar Carrier tires are soft and bounce around like crazy even with 50psi. I could be wrong but I think the K550 is way stiffer and would track better on these torn up curvy roads around here. I know a guy who sweared by bias ply tires on his old Winnebago because they tracked better and didn't drift like radials on that big heavy beast. They drove the hell out of that thing between Arkansas and Quebec every year.

Basically, I'm looking for suggestions on a super stiff tire. Total weight is roughly 2000lbs loaded to fish. I tend to stay within 30-45mins from the house and most of that water is 100% state highway (55mph) between here and there.

Treat others like you want to be treated when on the water EVEN WHEN IN A TOURNAMENT! No fish is worth having a confrontation because you cut someone off or came in on top of someone.

The same manufacturer makes a D rated radial that is rated for more weight and speed than the C rated tire. It made a big difference for me. Tire is rounder on the bottom with a smaller contact patch. Easier to move in the garage and less bouncing on the highway,

Bias ply tires often have more load carrying capacity but i have yet to see rag tires that wear very good. I went through the same issues you are having the 13” tire options just arent very good. If you can find a d rated tire in that size that will be your best option for what you are wanting to do.

By the specifications that should be as good as any other China bombs that you can find.

    I went with these http://www.trailertiresandwheels.com...l-Trailer-Tire

but I see no reason why the ones that you found would be any different.

I have one of these for a spare. I bought it before I upgraded my C rated tires. https://www.easternmarine.com/loadst...e-load-range-d

I went with these Rhino is getting into the smaller tires now, I have no idea where they’re made as they say “Designed in America” not Made in America. They’re Rhino GTR-602 and they’re holding up really well under my little Triton.

I bought a 4 tire set for my camper last month. ST205x75x14 load range D for $220.00 shipped from Amazon. NTB charged me $43.00 to mount them. Goodyear Endurance would have been over $500.00 for the same set-up. A no brainer for me.

The tire in your first link is what's on my trailer from the factory.

Yes but the one on the link is d rated not c rated. Better load rating and better speed rating and higher aire pressure rating than the C rated tire that comes on them. Mine came with the same tire that yours did. I swapped the C tires out for the D tires. They look identical but carry the weight of my 195 model much better.
