Looking to get my pops one for his boat trailer since he’s knees are getting bad and it’s hard for him to get in the boat. He has a 1998 Astro 20 footer. What are some of the better quality ladders available?

I would post this on the ProCraft/Astro forum and see if you get an answer there.
Easystep system. I have one on my Stroker trailer.

I originally had Easy Step, which mounted on my Triton trailer tongue, but recently replaced it with Trick Step, which mounts on my winch post. For my rig I find the Trick Step better. Much more stable and steps have a non slip coating. Also, I needed a trailer hitch extension with the Easy Step to allow me to make tight turns without having the front step hit the back of my truck, and I could not completely close the trailer swing tongue due to it's mounting position. You'll need to check if they make one compatible with your trailer. Hope that helps.
I have been very happy with www.trickstep.com.
Trick Step hands down.
e z step
trick steps i meant had to look I have both on different boats
Trick step is one of if not the best option I ordered on my new boat. That thing should be standard on all boats

I wish I could get one of these...but I need to store in a tight space along with needing to swing the tongue. The added inches these add, means both are out for now.
I do thank you all for helping me with some new bookmarks.
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!
I do not have any of the step systems but I have looked at them and one is in my future but I have not decided for sure which one. I don't need it but the EasyStepSystem has a version designed specifically for use with a swing away tongue so that may be something you want to look at.
I put a Trick Step on my Ranger boat, short of Cats factory steps on both my Bass Cat's they are VERY well made to be an after market product!!!
Although i dont need too i could still use my swing away tongue so don’t understand why you say you dont have the room?

Either one is better than none.

I put the trick step on my 05 Z22 a few weeks ago, absolutley worth it.
Easy Step for me--it works great.

I have a 1996 Astro 1850 dcx and i'm 71 now so this would be a great idea for your dad . I looked at the ez steps but decided to go with the trick steps very easy to install need two people because you have to line 4 bolts up with plates . The people are great to deal with and they can tell you how to measure your trailer for steps . The Astro isn't a common trailer size so its a custom job but no extra cost . Youtube has video . The owner actually welds your steps and work in the auto racing world before retiring and going into the steps . Very nice people quick service and easy to in stall .
All of my Cats have had the factory grab pole and step. If I had a different brand of boat and had to add one, it looks my choice between Easy and Trick would be the Easy Step. Reason for that is because the grab pole is out in front of the boat on the Easy, instead of back and to the starboard side. I launch a lot on my own. Having the pole and step out in front of the boat makes more sense. In any case, since having my first pole and step years ago, I would never again have a boat without one. It's a great option.
