I have a second-generation if I buy a third generation will I be able to see mega plus images on my generation two helix

Furthermore, I read somewhere (on this forum but now I cant find it) that G3N and G2N could be networked, but the newer G3N unit has to be the master/main unit? What does this mean? I’m in the market for a new Helix to go at the bow and give me Gps/2D/MEGA DI (maybe 360 eventually if they update it) - can that new G3N unit still be networked with my 10 MEGA SI G2N and Helix 7SI G2N at the console? I’m not sure what the “main” or “master” unit is referring to? Currently I have my Ultrex and two Humminbirds networked through a 5 port switch, is the G3N plug and play with all of these? I really hope so...
