Over time it seems they all were off but a black magic marker fixes that issue.

Tackle Warehouse has a new line of tungstun weights, permanently black.
Perhaps a MFG has adopted the method described ^^^^

Check out WOO Tungsten, I've never had any of my weights chip. They also have the "Invisi Shot" painted drop shot weight which I have yet to see chip and I drag those all over rock shoals. I havent seen anything like that anywhere else.

I had bought some a while back that I think was anodized. Can't remember the brand though. Hope someone can help out with this because I would like to buy some again. The torch method is a good idea if black is all you want.

I've had great luck with Reins and Strike King Matte weights. But honestly, the best I've ever come across, and I've tried many different brands, is this little company here in Texas called, TenBears Baits. They have a website you can order from.

I wish I could keep them around long enough to worry about the paint chipping off.

Fish don’t care what color they are. Plain tungsten works fine.

You might be supprised if you try certain colors. It is sometimes about the color that creates a reaction or attraction bite, no different than a scent or colored line keepers.

Yeah I don’t belive that. I think it’s in people head that it matters too much. I don’t use painted weights and the fish still bite.
