    Lakes near Houston?

Coming down to the Houston/Katy area over the Christmas holiday. Thinking of dragging the Ranger along. I know of Conroe are their any smaller lakes close by that would be good? Thanks Greg

Some are more of a drive, like Houston County, Fayette, Sommerville but they can be worth the effort. Lake Houston is close to the city & Livingston up the road from Conroe can be hit or miss. HTH

Fayette County, just go there. 1:15 from Katy. I will allow you to take me. Just give me some dates.

An overpopulated slot lake that produces big numbers and good quality.

Other lakes. Drive times from Katy

    Lake Houston ~40 minutes
    Conroe ~50m
    Fayette : 1:15
    Lake Raven ~1:30 (Idle only)
Gibbons Creek** ~ 1:30 (check on open dates)
    Livingston ~1:35
    Somerville ~ 1:35
    Texana ~ 1:45
    Coleto Creek ~ 2:15
    Belton ~3:00
    Lake Waco ~3:00
    Still House ~3:00
    Sam Rayburn ~ 3:15
    Toledo Bend ~3:45
